Love Has a Face

Love has a face When I was young, I wondered what love was. It sounded nice, like a happy word An appealing concept, but I had my doubts Was it real, was it needed, or was it something you could live without? Would it be out of reach, could it ever be found? One night, while gazing at the full moon, not knowing what love was... I didn't know what to say...to think, or even... if I believed in love. Then I sensed, deep within, a feeling beginning to grow, an awareness... that love had a place. The day I met you..that's when I knew.. that love has a face! John Derek Hamilton December 20,2016

Oh John, such a stirring and romantic write of soulmate love.. Your poem is wondrous throughout but especially; 'You felt it deep within, an awareness.. that love had a place..' your fourth stanza is your heart's moment of epiphany so poetically and beautifully expressed. Love it! Warmest wishes my friend..

Thanks Susan, I'm glad you enjoy my older poems, my desire to write is waning, due to family issues, but hopefully I will continue writing sometime soon.
