Love Cannot Exist Without the Storm

Don't for a second think I can't handle pain I demonstrate the meaning of the word resilience in vain Over and over again I thrive For I am an example to the rest on how to survive pain... Yes. I've experienced enough to know it's next moves Of its oppressive nature, I do not approve Pain! Cannot enter where it is not wanted It's unwelcomed presence will be blunted I dangle it by its strings and toss it aside By my rules will pain abide... I look up to the sky and make a wish for you Of the many prayers of which you never knew... That your tongue may be guided before you speak That your outlook on this would not be so bleek I wish that we would not be weak That what we have could be special in all its forms That our relationship would not be such a storm But what is enjoyment of heat without knowing the cold? Could we only be passive without being bold? What is summer without knowing a winter's day? Could we really appreciate our display Of affection without any hardship? What is our journey without this road trip? Don't for a second think I can't handle pain I demonstrate the meaning of resilience in vain What more can I say... On this confusing day True love in all it's forms Cannot exist without the storm
