Notes About The Poem

Author's Notes: This free verse poem, "Love Always," is one that I wrote from three perspectives. First, committing yourself to love that special person in your life with all your heart. Second, seeking out that person to be your true soulmate in this life and beyond. Third, finding that inspirational thing together in life that makes you both want to seize your fate and destiny together. Why not?? (Gary Bateman - February 18, 2018)

Love Always

Love Always

commit yourself
with all your heart
to love always
that very special person
who has captured yours

and has become
your friend
your confidant
your soulmate
your everything 
in this earthly life
and beyond

fate and destiny
await you both
at life’s end—
and the Angels 
shall be there
to guide you into
God’s eternal light

Hello Dear Maria!! Thanks for your read here and for your wondrous comment!!! Yes, "love" does not come so easily for many people. Some people, in fact, end up never finding that special other. Hello Carole, Yes -- you're right about that. My poem here looks at this notion from its idealized conception and circumstance. Given the various realities and differences in the vast essence of human relationships and interactions a treasured commitment between two people may not end up being the final outcome. Fate and Destiny may have something else in mind. Best Always, Gary
