Notes About The Poem

Lou And Doug

“Politics is a contact sport” —Steve Chabot
It ain't over 'till it's over —Yogi Berra

Loug And Doug

Pleasant gentlemen both, broad shouldered and tall
Good sports who respect the umpire's call
Playing the game with pride and joy
Sincerely humble, never coy
Staunch New Yorkers with their eyes on the ball

Robert, I see you had fun with this. Good sports can exist throughout the ages. Perhaps that means there's a glimmer of hope for us? Imagine listening to and obeying the judge. There's a very interesting comparison here to what we're seeing today in our political world and the interaction between branches of government.

Bruce Springsteen just made the same point as you in his London concert. Trump's response "The man never had any talent" I trust that 'The Boss' you and I are on the same team. Play ball! My best Robert

They look similar don't they though. Not a goy, but surely a joy! Whoa ;o

The resemblance is surely uncanny right? Just 100 years of separation, yet they could be bros! Bestie, Robert

Hadn't noticed the similarity before. --- Do you think Lou might have gotten to 'first base' with Kamala? lol. ~ Joe Pepitone
