Lost Then Found
Lost... such an unkind word.
Being lost...
when we're young is frightening
when we're mature is disorienting
when we're old is more frightening.
We pray and ask to be found.
Being found is...
the most joyous moment,
the best feeling ever,
a true milestone for the formerly lost.
Feeling lost because of...
lost lives that break hearts,
a mom, a sister, a wife, a ???,
family we'll not see again here.
lost loves that shatter dreams,
a spouse or almost spouse,
betrothed or desiring betrothal, now gone,
a planned life becomes a chaotic life.
lost trust creates broken promises,
what was said for years and believed suddenly changes,
what was felt by one, was undone by another,
how cautious and careful must one be to trust again.
lost sleep brings muddled minds,
where worry and doubt rule,
where thoughts jump their tracks,
where wanting someone to help is overwhelming.
Oh how feeling lost is such a horrid state to be in.
Feeling found by someone...
is exhilarating and refreshing,
is relaxing and natural,
brings life back into life,
allows for the possibilities of love,
removes the night's frights
and every days grays.
I'm hoping to be found again
before I'm too old to care,
how dreary a life that would have to be.
I just need to be found, to be loved,
so I can be myself once more.
