Lost Recognization
You look into the eyes of someone you used to know,
but instead of recognization,
there are mirrors and only yourself it shows,
You know it wouldn't be so bad,
if you weren't exchanging pleasantries,
like the two of you could hold on tight,
because the past was strong in bond.
You look into the eyes of someone you used to know,
and can't help but think these words are fake.
Spoken by a familiar face but an entirely unknown being.
You do not mourn,
solid as stone you feel nothing,
because you've known for a while.
And you know it wouldn't be so bad..
If you could only forget your past.
