Lost Love
The first time I felt it,
It hit me like a thousand trains.
Then all at once, her essence
Was flowing through my veins.
I thought it was just infatuation.
But I couldn’t have been so wrong.
In that moment I realized,
That I had loved her all along.
I was baffled by her beauty,
And the soft look in her eyes.
Now I look back and I realize,
It was this that I despise.
My feelings for her were wasted,
I learned she didn’t care.
I tried so hard to forget her,
But I didn’t have a prayer.
I still see her everyday,
Yet still she doesn’t see.
That I’d have given anything,
For her to be with me.
