Lost Love
The smile just barely touching your lips,
Not quite sure if this chance meeting is good or bad,
right or wrong.
All the things left unsaid at our last parting
just below the surface
of the inocuous greetings we exchange.
So many moments shared, so many more
abandoned without cause.
My first and last love now little more
than a stranger before me.
Much too late now for the things not said then.
Polite and distant with each other
as if there had never been passion,
or anger,
or laughter,
......or love.
