Lost It

I thought about it, but don't remember what it was I thought about!

Let me take a step back.
I was going to bake a cake.
Oh yes, I needed to add vanilla.
Where is that vanilla?
In the pantry, I expect.

There are so many things in here.
 Flour, sugar, coffee and tea.
There're canned peaches,
a bag of potatoes, some tuna and apples.
There is even some mixing bowls up on the top shelf.
Darn! What did I come in here for?

Let me take a step back.
Oh yes, I was going to bake a cake!
