Lost In the Woods
Walking through the woods
I look at the trees
How they sway from side to side
Leaves steadily falling
I compare the leaves to my life
Steadily falling apart
Into darkness
Being walked on
Crushed
Burnt
I head further into the woods
See the stream still running
Yet a rock is in the middle
Holding up the flow of clear water
This reminds me of how you have stayed in my way
The way of a perfect life
A good life
Yet, I still walk further
By this time, the moon is coming out
Darkness is all around me
Stars are shining bright
It’s time to sleep
Time to sleep away the pain
The pain of being lost in the woods
In my life
I lie down
I cover myself with the fallen leaves
A lone red flower stands by itself
I pick it up
Place it on my chest
Between my breasts
Close to my heart
And I fall to sleep
