Losing Game
“Love is a losing game”
I never truly understood what it meant,
What it felt like.
I had never truly felt
Fondness.
I had an idea of desire,
What “win” was but never
Lose.
For me, I never lost that game.
Never truly participated.
The dealer at a table,
Playing the cards,
Never gambling.
Then I realized,
What it was like to lose.
For once, I made that bet.
The one time I gambled.
I took that chance.
And now I’m stuck,
In debt.
Wondering how to win again.
Win you.
You taught me to lose.
I lost your love, yet you’re winning.
Love was my losing game.
