Lord of Beauty

What magic infuses the frangipani 
with a luscious  scent so pure,
or, a twilight with pink pellucid rays ?
The same that makes 
a stone menagerie of fossils,
or ripples a mockingbird’s wing
with faint vermillion fires.

Inherent in us  this memory of natural beauty
handed-down along Ancestral lines
Each thing on earth beholden to the same Creator.
