Lord God, You Are My Sin-Imprisonment Releaser
February 21 Relationship to God Bible Meditations
Based on Deuteronomy 15-19
Key Verse – Deuteronomy 15:2 And this is the manner of the release: Every creditor that lendeth ought unto his neighbour shall release it; he shall not exact it of his neighbour, or of his brother; because it is called the LORD's release.
LORD GOD, YOU ARE MY SIN-IMPRISONMENT RELEASER
Lord God, You are my sin-imprisonment Releaser…
… through Your freedom-inheritance
Thank You for opening my heart
to receive Your pardon midst humble acceptance
So I can serve You by Your grace-assistance
As I repent from showing You disobedience with my resistance.
Lord God, You are my sin-imprisonment Releaser…
… through Your mercy-furnished liberation
Thank You for saving my soul from hell’s condemnation
And grievous worldly destruction
So I can stay in Your will for my constant sanctification
As I choose to remain in Your care, cleansed from blemishing corruption.
Lord God, You are my sin-imprisonment Releaser…
… through Your finished sacrifice
Thank You for enabling me to flee
from transgression’s afflicting price
So I can settle in Your statutes upon which I must righteously rise
As I rejoice in Your blessings only You can suffice.
Lord God, You are my sin-imprisonment Releaser…
… through Your sovereign well-favouredness
Thank You for teaching my heart
to worship You with spirited truthfulness
So I can submit to You at Your prayer-throne’s steadfastness
As I learn from Your Word about Your holiness.
Lord God, You are my sin-imprisonment Releaser…
… through Your fulfilled offering
Thank You for responding to my confession
for iniquity’s curing against vain ambition’s soaring
So I can subdue temptations while You pull me toward Your assuring
As I walk on paths of righteousness with Your bearing.
Lord God, You are my sin-imprisonment Releaser…
… through Your fervent commandment
Thank You for hearkening to my supplications
with Your loving treatment
So I can succeed in standing along great commission-fulfillment
As I separate from worldly defilement.
Lord God, You are my sin-imprisonment Releaser…
… through Your heaven-fetching pity
Thank You for granting my faith the possession
of eternal life’s divine bounty
So I can spend my days glorifying You, my Master Almighty
As I put evil away, by Your grace, from my beautified purity.
