Looking Forward

Here we go again
another year we don't break we just bend
filled with ups and downs highs and lows 
wishing and hoping as deep down inside we know
we're still the under dog we're still in the fight
we know it won't get any easier not at this height
bumps and bruises lay ahead
with mountains to climb and sleepless nights in our bed
we fight a good fight we hold'em and fold'em 
we turn our cheeks bite our tongues embracing whats to come
in hard times we find our strengths when it is the darkest we find our light
we will not fade away we will not surrender to our plight
a new year filled moments and memories, triumphs and tragedies
here's to all of you who sit in the same boat in this rocky sea
hold your love keep your smiles and never sell your souls
a new year holds no promises and this you know
so Happy New Years to all may it not hurt so much when we fall
keep you head up and your emotions in hand
2009 will be great if this crazy life you understand
peace to all and all a safe night 
         remember we'll only bend in this fight.
