Look To God - Psalm 4
Look to God full of Righteousness
seek His face for your answer
He brings relief to the distressful
full of sovereign love He's no chancer
Mankind you are so full of vanity
honour you disrespect lies are your fill
but know this the Lord loves the godly
for He hears my call being in His will
Sinfulness is a terrible thing don't do it
ponder and be silent deep in your heart
be sure to offer the correct sacrifice
then trust in the Lord that's the best part
So many say we can't see any good
but only the Lord can show His true light
I've joy in my heart filled to overflow
more than the world has with all their might
God gives me His perfect peace
so I can lie down so very still
for God alone is my rock
safely dwelling in Him so brill!
(Psalm 4 (ESV)
Answer me when I call, O God of my righteousness!
You have given me relief when I was in distress.
Be gracious to me and hear my prayer!
O men, how long shall my honour be turned into shame?
How long will you love vain words and seek after lies?
But know that the Lord has set apart the godly for himself;
the Lord hears when I call to him.
Be angry, and do not sin;
ponder in your own hearts on your beds, and be silent.
Offer right sacrifices,
and put your trust in the Lord.
There are many who say, “Who will show us some good?
Lift up the light of your face upon us, O Lord!”
You have put more joy in my heart
than they have when their grain and wine abound.
In peace I will both lie down and sleep;
for you alone, O Lord, make me dwell in safety. )
