Longing

I still miss her mystery, mornings when I'd wake beside her and nuzzle her nape, hear her breathing so softly, so sleek under satins that sculpted her beautiful shape. Now my days are vacant, evenings are empty with no one to hold, to ponder and pattern ambitions together for ever, pale dreams that are now so far distant and cold.

Hey Keith! Second verse is so melancholy. Folorn expressions of had beens. Sentiments that are well depicted by your use of word "to ponder and pattern ambitions together", so sad when something like this comes to an end. First verse is soft and sensual...causes the second verse to feel even more desolate. Anyhow, hope all's well with you! Happy New Year(I know I've said this before), wishing and hoping the best for you and yours in 2009! God bless....Love, Mikki

This is a wonderful poem Keith. Bringing up feelings that match my own. And may I also thank you for your comment on my poem "Fear." It would seem that you have read one more Koontz book than I have! ~J~

When we lose someone we love it is all the little things, the small, quiet moments that fill our days an nights. Sad but beautiful. Longing is the perfect title for this touching write. You truly have a poets heart. Love, Robin
