Longed - For Mail

I looked in my mailbox, In hope that I would see A friendly sort of letter Written all for me. The mailbox was full, But to my sad dismay It contained bills and magazines; And nothing came my way. I looked for a week, And sadder I became Everyday in the mailbox; Nothing held my name. Finally, I stopped looking, It wasn't meant to be; I didn't search the mailbox And there was something there for me.

We look for years to reconcile. That empty box filled with denial. That brings just empty notes of hope. And nothing else to help us cope. Short on time to write more rhyme. :) On a library computor.

Oh, what a lovely poem. We don't get many letters by mail these days. In fact the postage has just gone up quite a lot here in Britain, but I do send emails. Somehow they don't seem quite the same. You have my little message below your poem and I hope this will also be liked. Best wishes and thanks for your lovely little poem.
