Notes About The Poem

Long Live the Queen

Though her reign has had rarely a flaw, England’s queen once or twice dropped her jaw. She’s enjoyed a long life As both mother and wife. Not so much as a mother-in-law! For the Long Live the Queen Contest of Judy Konos

Tut tut Petal, you do realise the Beefeaters will be after you for this, they'll drag you kicking and screaming to the Tower, where the Ravens will peck your eyes out, after an unpleasent stay in the dungeons you will be taken to Traitors Gate (luckily you won't be able to see that) where you will be hung, drawn and quartered, your head placed on a pike on London Bridge (as a warning to others) and the rest of your remains thrown into the Thames. Take care, Richard. If it's no to late already lol

Oh, I say! This is quite dashing, old thing. Didn't know you are a devoted Britisher. Love this. When I hear Elgar's Pomp and Circumstance I come to attention. Am absolutely crazy about British literature and ways. Pip, pip! Love, daver

Hello Andrea... a well written limerick that brought on a smile, although any break up is not a laughing matter. Your lim brought back a memory of waving a flag in amongst hundreds of other tiny little tackers who welcomed her royal highness to Warragul around 1954... and she still reigns supreme - Lindsay

LOL Andrea - this is simply hilarious but also tinged with sadness - you have to admit they are one of the most well know dysfunctional families - only Edward isn't divorced and I will bite my tongue over that comment or I may get sent to the tower lol:-) Hugs jan xx
