Long Before Day
Long Before Day
Jesus got up a long while before day
He went to a secret place
And there he would pray
He needed to hear
What his Father would say
To learn what to do
In just one more short day.
So I must get up
Begin every day
Spend time in some quietness
Simply to pray
For I need God’s wisdom
His grace and his strength
If I’m to be useful
For Jesus today.
“Now in the morning, having risen a long while before daylight, He went out and departed to a solitary place; and there He prayed.” Mark 1:35
