Lonely

Lonely The palm trees sway As gentle wind goes by On the French Riviera’s coast While on the beach the lapping waves unfurl. The rising moon is in no haste To light her tearful face; She waits in vain Lonely. ---------------------------------------------------- Path Number 9 ~ Birthdate 16th February Contest: "Tell Me Your Number" Sponsor: Andrea Dietrich Placing: 6th

Thank you Andrea. I did correct my mistake, but I suppose I was not in time! (over here 'riviera' is often considered to consist of 3 syllables since it's derived from Italian and most Maltese speak this language and pronounce romance words a such.) // paul

I have to agree with everyone else, this is a home run. If this were mine I would have it framed and hanging on my wall. Excellent, Paul, I love this poem. It is exquisite.

I don't know what the number means, but this poem is a perfect 10. I wish I could give it more than a 7. Maybe one day I'll be able to see the French Riviera and enjoy the splendor you described. I returned a Soup mail though I'm not sure it went through. The computer had to recapture the web page? I'm with my aunt now. She sends her love, Diane

I'm sorry, Paul. I'm having some problems with this website. I've tried to use a better picture, but I can't delete this one. I had heard about the problems with the technical aspects of the site.

Hi Diane! Lovely to hear from you and see a (pretty) face:) I'm afraid the soup mail never found its way to me, but I did my little part. Hope 'aunt' is better+; pls do give her my love as well; will be back to her soon. Glad you enjoyed this poem...it's all got to do with our birthdate. Thank you for a lovely visit:) // paul

Glad you like this poem, Connie! Last time I went to the French Riviera was 10 years ago...first thing I noticed was the palm trees next to the beach....that's what brought about this write. Hope you're keeping well. // paul
