Lonely

Lonely
                                         The palm trees sway
                                       As gentle wind goes by
                                   On the French Riviera’s coast
                        While on the beach the lapping waves unfurl.
                                  The rising moon is in no haste
                                      To light her tearful face;
                                           She waits in vain
                                                  Lonely.
