Loch Ness

All I did was get in the water to bath, drink and have a little think, but when I did finally emerge all of the others had gone extinct! There was some kind of death power purge. They all left me, oh, they had such nerve! Fate not only allowed me to live, it gave me a life that has no quit and I tell you, it is not a gift. I really believe I got short shift, not to mention, a well-known nickname that is far and way beyond insane. Now all I ever hear is Loch Ness. As a should be goner, called monster, I cannot even leave this water; we are stuck like a cup and saucer. If I were to walk upon the shore all would see I am a dinosaur.

Thank you, Lewis. My imagination got very happy with this contest, and stubborn, wouldn't let me write anything else about Ness! Poetry hugs ... CayCAy

If you have ever stood on the banks of Loch Ness at early dawn on a chill Summers morning...thin mists dissipating just above the surface of the steaming waters...far cliffs straight up and as black as thunder...strange, haunting cries from what can only be somewhat described as, perhaps, being the forlorn cries of eerie sounding birds, then, you, too, could more than well believe in the legend of the Water Beast! An amazing place, CayCay...there is nowhere like it in the world. My best regards!

Loved your reply, CayCay - lol! :) Loch Ness, on the "right day", has a "mood" to it comparable only to the brooding presence of terrible Glencoe...both of these places, at times, seem to repel even the stoutest of hearts! Allow me to sign off by wishing you a very happy New Year, CayCay...may it be a productive and contented one. Cheers!! :) john

Hey, John - I neither believe or disbelieve, this is just where my muse went. How I would love to stand, walk and just be inside your description! I have read many books describing the area, just beautiful. Personally, I've got 'Scotland' dreams. I appreciate every word you wrote me and I thank you, but know that I definitely do NOT believe in Big Foot - who saw me, but no one believes him! All the best ... CayCay

Thank you, Jan. It was the one and only direction my muse went in. It amazes sometimes to come up with anything for some of the contest challenges, and, to me, that's what they are - a challenge to my muse to write. Glad you enjoyed. Much love ... CayCay
