Living the Dream

Down in Haiti
Far from the dream
Way on back
From the vacation scene

Lives the people
Trapped in a life
Poverty, sadness
Toil and strife

Children weeping
From worm infested,
Swollen, malnourished
Starving little bellies

What would Golden
Flower think of today
The country she loved
Destroyed in such a way

(Missionary from Haiti came to visit our church yesterday. With his visit and
talk, I see solutions to problems in an instant. Something to treat the water
before the people use it, reforestation, wells in places that need them, and
proper out door facilities for areas that don't have them. Money, work, and
time is needed to carry these projects out .)

And the water of life springs forth and so now these waters must also be blessed by the the spirit of sanctifying Grace streaming forth pure life. Blessed by Grace be you all! I will send my blessings Sara!

So much to do and so much need ... it can all seem overwhelming ... thanks for your comment on my contest entry and I changed it to include the words "snow flakes" ... it didn't register with me that I had entered a contest about snow ... LOL ... thanks for all your support, Sara.

It's really a sad state of affairs for those who live in Haiti, Sara. You captured it well in your words! The poverty and disease are rampant. I think "Golden Flower" would wilt if she saw the conditions today. Powerful, meaningful, profound writing! A favorite for me. Love, Carolyn

one problem. someone had to actually do it. actually give, actually work, actually deliver, before letting the devil steal it before it gets there.

Interesting write and I agree, there are many countries in such situation. I am thinking of Mexico for example. Thanks for sharing and thank you for your comments on my poem. Actually, no, I wasn't refering to Israel. I was refering to Korea. But the Middle East is definitely another problem to solve. Caroline.

Quite often in the back country of vacation spots....there is a whole different world..one of sadness and poverty. You have expressed that thought so well.! ~ Carrie
