Living In a Rainbow World

How do you live in a rainbow world all of the time? The woman had no answer, because she believed in faeries. She was surrounded by the sound of pixie wings. Dragonflies knew her name. She stared at the man who had asked her. Maybe it is easy because I believe in faeries she whispered. He frowned at her naivety and turned away. Two damselflies fluttered after him. One landed gently on his shoulder. Darned bee! He snarled. His world was putrid greenish gray. He was not about to believe in damselflies or faeries. I wonder what happened to him? The monarch asked. We need to uplift him, said the geraniums. They smiled broadly. He stomped them into the ground, injuring their petals.

I feel the first one is you yourself ! The second is a dull head failing to enjoy life- eternally shackled to a world of grim realities! There is a world of difference between the two ! Beautiful poem, Caren !

The two opposite ends of the spectrum. Too much reality leads to being angry and unable to see the beauty which God has wrought. Too much childlike awe only brings happiness makes people think you aren't rowing with both oars. I have to agree with Gershon. Well Done Caren. God Bless, JB

I don't care about what others think; I think this is because of all the pixie dust that follows me around.

Sometimes our good intentions or not accepted at first, so we don't see the good they accomplished in the long run. Nice message in your poem, Caren. I enjoyed it. Bill

Gosh, Caren, the world is full of people just like the man you have described. No wonder we have problems!
