Living For Tomorrow
I drift from place to place
Never had a place to call my own
Nor a plan for the future
I just dreamed incessantly of tomorrow
And all the greatness it would bring
Problems would be solved
I'd have friends in both high and low places
Maybe I'd have a career
But what I never expected to find
Was that by living for tomorrow
I forgot to enjoy today
And everything I thought I had to gain
I lost yesterday
And now I'm just searching for what was
Because tomorrow
Only makes things worse and worse
I have to live for today
Because tomorrow will never be better
If I never make today better
It's just funny
In the moment I never realized
I was living my best years
And now that they're behind me
I'd give anything
To have them back
