Living and Existing
These two words are universally misunderstood
By all human beings irrespective of their statehood
Though outwardly they appear to be analogous
They connote a deep meaning that is not obvious
But to the ignorant many, it may sound ridiculous.
A vast majority of us surely lead life conventional
Immersed in our pursuit of bread and better, usual
In search of a safe roof for our family, congenial
That makes our living hassle-free and comfortable
But this is but a routine pursuit that is not admirable.
We sweat for earning more to enjoy a life tranquil
Thus lead our lives in ignorance utterly disgraceful
When we live for ourselves, it amounts to ‘existing’
And when we live for the humanity, it is called ‘living’
And the true purpose of man is to live and not to exist.
