Live It Up
Another year has passed me by
Now I’m a little older
Summer seems much hotter
And Winter seems much colder.
I try to think of happy things
And good times that I had
But it seems the things that come to mind
Tend to make me sad.
My memory sorta tells me
In the not too distant past
I used to really have a ball
And life was just a blast!
I used to party often
Go to shows and take vacations
Now its go to funerals
Talk of ailments and medications.
I used to travel quite a lot
No place was thought too far
I would fly or go by train
Or drive there in my car.
But travel now has limits
With aches and pains and such
And an over-active bladder
Makes me have to go too much.
Bar-hopping was a big thing
There was cigarettes and booze
Now I just sit at home
And watch the evening news.
I think that ends my story
Here's the reason why
When I think back on the good-ol-days
it sorta makes me cry.
I'll enjoy whatever's left
now that my story's told
I'll live it up as best I can
before I'm too darn old!
