Little Girl With a Big Heart

Little Girl with Big Heart There was a little girl standing in the middle of the street, wondering where she belonged and how does she get there. She was so young, small posture, small feet with no shoes. Her small hands held her teddy bear, but no one held her. No one was waiting for her at home because she had no place to call home. The street was full and crowed with people but yet she was so alone. Despite the loneliness and struggle, lost and scared, the little girl had a big heart that held so much love but no one to share with. She dreamed of a day when she could smile and laugh without holding her tears back. But that day was so far away that she felt that it would never come on time. She was a little girl but she has seen so much pain, violence, and had put herself to sleep under a lullaby of her own cries. The little shack was nothing more than a cage where no bird can spread it wings; but it was a shelter from the howling wind and an angry snow storm. There was no kitchen, where you would see a happy child with her mother making a meal for the whole family. There was no living room for the family gatherings on Christmas eve. No one was making the bubble baths where every child's imagination came to live. No back yard to play with the family's puppy on a beautiful and sunny day. There was nothing but a 10x10 box that held a bunk bed, old fashioned stove, and a small coffee table. No fluffy pillows or blankets, no fancy toys on the floor to trip over at night on your way to the bathroom, and not a single window to let in the sunlight early in the morning. But the little girl held on to her dream tightly every night no matter how hard it was. She did not know if she was going to wake up tomorrow and see a brand new day. She did not know if she was going to eat tomorrow. She did not know if this was her future or this was her life. All she did know is that she wanted to wake up from this nightmare and make her dream come true. But the next morning came and she was stuck in the repetition mode yet again.
