Listen, little red,
heed what mother said.
Scamper, scamper, little fawn,
sleep’s long overdue;
Moon is waning too.
Playtime’s ended, comes the dawn.
Leave the mossy loam;
hurry, scurry home
to the thicket for a rest
from your exercise.
Hush now, close those eyes
nestled close to mother’s breast.
