Lips Gently Merging
The sky was blue, as deep-blue as the sea
The grass fresh, and as green as you please
The air redolent of honeysuckle and vine
Your lips as inviting as a full, rich red wine
The rains crept up softly, the sky hadn't darkened
Nor to thunder's voice had the two of us hearkened
Held fast by the dreamy look in each other's eyes
Two lovers in love, mesmerized, hypnotized …
As we moved ever closer, our lips gently merging
The rain beat against us, our sweet union urging ---
And when the skies parted, bright sunshine burst through
Nestling in the arc of love's rainbow, imbued with her hues
