Lion's Portal
It's easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle
Than for me to walk through the lion’s gate opening
Every August 8th
The Lion’s Gate opens
For many years this has happened
The Ancients Ones
Spoke of the abundance and spiritual
Achievements for those who have
Received the invitation
But when my turn came to walk that path
I was first faced with children playing
In front of their homes
And then a den of lions and lioness
Sleeping an a winding path
In a dark forest
But after passing through
The lion’s test I was faced
With a decision to walk with my brother
We were both greeted
By the Gatekeeper who
Sat in a small house at the end of the road overlooking the
bridge
She was an older woman with dark hair
And brown skin and she stopped me
Because I was going the wrong way home
The Gatekeeper offered me advice and
Directed me to cross the long and thin
Unstable bridge of a very large river
We both heeded her advice
And began our final walk home
Over the bridge
But before we could make our first steps
Onto the bridge
My brother suddenly falls through a manhole
I shouted for him but we could not find him
It's easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle
Than for me to walk through lion's gate opening
