Lingering Memories

Lingering Memories The hours have gone by fast memories of the past linger and I do yearn for your footsteps to return taking time to reminisce about the things we do miss. When I’d rather play in dirt than put on a skirt. reminders here and there things of which I am aware, the teddy bear on the shelf one eye gone sits by itself. How I hated the hair bow that I wore long ago. Tiny footprints in plaster, first footstep of disaster until I learned to run now able to chase in fun. Going over the yesteryear chicken pox and the tears, no nap made me cranky! What became of the hanky? While time flies by with a slice of blueberry pie. By Deborah Ann Russell
