Like Zephyr Breeze

Before I ever saw those eyes      How deeply I loved you.

Before you read my first thought       I found you .

Before you ever dreamt of my lips    I kissed your smile

I meant nothing to you      and you were already my world.

I lived through every breath you inhaled 

till that same breath became a ghost from the past.

Tonight  I exist to live for what was ...

Tomorrow  I live to exist for what will be .

I stopped calling your name 

I  stopped searching your footprints 

I stopped seeking those arms

Stopped believing in stars .

Yet sometimes      in my soul's dusk of night 

through your cold absence        I feel you within me 

Ever so soft      just like the wind 

Like zephyr  breeze which left my cheek      yet never gone.

I can see why this did so well. "Tomorrow I live to exist for what will be..." Do you still feel this way? Living on an island paradise? Of course, this is in my fave stash

Awe-struck as I read on, chills up and down my spine. Your words in this verse are almost a reflection of my "Who Am I" 1/9/2022. To me this is sensual and filled with eternal love!

Hi James...Yes In the old days we didnt have a reply button.on poetrysoup..so.instead we used to reciprocate by visiting the poets'poetry... So that is the way I usually reply dear James Horn..When Im lucky to have some free time and leave a reply comment on the comments too ..I do that as well. Anyway lately I dont have so much time to visit others poetry..nor post poems...which is sad.. Im posting here..because somehow my reply button on yours isn tworking..I ll try again :).

This poem just completely took my breath away. Your mind see the most beautiful and mesmerizing scenes and I am so thankful it allows you to put them into words and share them with all of us. What beautiful analogies, Charmaine, that exalts love for love's sake, whether or not the person will return the favor. You crafted this so well, and the zephyr breeze ... so delightfully fleeting.
