Like the Flame Imperishable

The night wraps itself around us new stars light up the sky the one is destroyed there is a sense of joy as the Dark Lord fades the halflings strength changed the face of Middle Earth After the struggle a new dawn reveals itself to us Soon the misty sea will draw us Let there be peace

Hey you are the Tolkien guy, right? This really put me in mind of when I was reading Lord of the Rings many years ago. A very enjoyable read! LUv, Andrea

Very nice tribute to J R R Tolkein's trilogy on the rings, Matthew. I found the novels to be entertaining and filled with metaphors. Love the way you portry "Middle Earth" activities here. As for the last line, we just have to keep praying for peace. Love, Carolyn

Lord of the Rings, huh? "The night / wraps itself / around us" I like that. "new stars light up" that expresses a new era. A time of peace. I like this poem. The Lord of the Rings Trilogy is one of my favorites. You captured the ending perfectly. Thanks for you comments on my poem, Matthew. To answer the one about the dilly road, "dilly" means remarkable or extraordinary.
