Like a Victory
your chin trembles
helplessly
your thoughts are so far away
from you
you knit your fingers into one another
each knot – like a victory
your hands, embraced, run back into the folds
of our common memories
your body swans into the room
your eyes are a blank page
but your chin trembles
helplessly
it swans
into our common memories –
white feathers
we puff them away
like a victory
against ourselves
