Like a Flowing River

Like a flowing river
my spirit flows to where it goes,
out where the vast sea of life is,
fresh as a cold morning dew.

Seeking to fill this wide world
with all the love that I have,
tireless as a swift-flowing river,
endless as the blue, blue sky.

To love is what I am here for
to care for my fellowman;
the road is rough and thorny
yet my love lives endlessly
like a flowing river.

I may just be a little leaf
floating on the restless water
but I'll go anywhere it takes me
till I find you out in the sea.

Kind Sir, This one is truly beautiful- a work of art! Tell me more about the Phlippines. Some of my fondest memories come from my time there. I have a short narrative called The Helicopter Flight I will post. I also have a short story too long to post called A Congressman, A Gunrunner, and a Cup of Tea you might enjoy. Once again, I am moved by the beauty of your poem. J. B. Rudd

We are all just little leaves Wilfredo, floating out toward the sea. So glad to have met you on our journey, for you truly are a beautiful spirit. Who, by the way, writes beautiful poetry. Love is really all that matters, after all. Love, Shar
