lightning cracks outside

thunder rolls across the sky

rain comes pounding down

Summer leaves us with a storm

tonight I'll sleep like a babe

Gosh, rain and storms used to help me sleep, but then I had a house where the basement flooded; lost a ton of stuff; now I can't even sleep when it sprinkles. This is an excellent piece of poetry.

Francine, l love the rain and you capture perfectly, in this Tanka, the relaxing effect it has on the body. I enjoyed this!
