Light Suspended

I watch you bend the light, so that I'm able to see
             The essence you illuminate that's inside of me
                 I never imagined you'd be with me still
                      A moment
                         A sacrifice
               
                             I'll love you until

                                Until the oceans evaporate
                                  The stars fall from the sky
                                    Until the laws of gravity break
                                      I'll always be your guy
                                       You make it easy to love you
                                         No reason to question why
                                          Jesus, you're God's perfect gift
                                           My parched soul's no longer dry


                                              Thanks for bending the light 
                                               so that I'm able to see
                                                Nothing is impossible
                                                Love does set me free
                                                I never imagined
                                                my heart peaceful and still
                                               A moment
                                              A sacrifice

                                           I'll love you until
            
                                    Until twenty before never
                                several minutes beyond eternity
                            You are more than just perfection
                        You're the one true Saviour for me
                      All that I have searched for
                    I am now able to see
                   True Love overflowing
                  protects me from the enemy
                  Light suspended on a cross
                  Your blood shed for me
                  
                   As you bend the light
                    I feel it wrap around my heart
                     It was always meant for me
                      I knew it from the start
                        Take this heart Jesus
                          I know you understand
                              I am yours now and forever 
                                  Let me feel your light  e x p a n d

I'd argue that this genre is SHAPE poetry that happens to rhyme. Love all the different things you did here RICHARD. Unusual metaphor, great capture of the small things that make us love. Bending the light in our direction or the greater things finding the light and being part of it! Good write.

I seem to remember this one, Richard. Did you post it on FB? I still liked it like I did before ... written with artistic individuality. (or maybe the words were just edited it? Instead of romantic love it was instead written about Jesus?) ...

Yes, I liked my starting point and changed a number of the stanza's to envoke the message I was wanting to share. The love of Jesus goes far beyond that of romantic love. Still if He is part of our life, his love spills over into our romantic lives as well. With my wife I feel a spiritual connection beyond the romantic.
