Light of the World
There is an author, a creator, a maker of the LIGHT In the darkest vacuum, he makes things clear and bright LIGHT puts out the darkness and the True LIGHT puts evil to flight In the deep pits and crooked places of our lives, he sets things right We are in the season of LIGHTS, celebrating the gift to people of every stripe Oh, the wonder of God, ever shinning LIGHT on a dark world to His DELIGHT

From the nearby swamps and creeks, preceding the crickets who would relieve them later into the night, the bull frogs wasted no time arresting and capturing our attention. It seems the crickets and the frogs were competing for the prestigious award of 'Best Sounders Of The Night'. For us kids, at best they were great background music, because we were much more enthused by flashing LIGHTS. In the early years of the place of my abode, we toyed with 'lightning bugs'. Without batteries or electric current, these invaders of the darkness were clearly on a mission to 'Let there be LIGHT' both in dark places of our community and in the playful hearts of children. We were greatly entertained and freed from boredom as lightning bugs flashed about and lit up our dark nights.

We are all familiar with the expression, 'there is LIGHT at the end of the tunnel'. Moreover, may it also be true that 'there is also LIGHT at the beginning of the tunnel? We are also familiar with the first words that God spoke in the Book of Genesis. "The earth was a formless void and darkness covered the face of the deep.....Then God said, Let there be LIGHT*; and there was LIGHT".** This I have known since childhood. However, to my DELIGHT, for the very first time, I heard about another LIGHT just a few months ago; and this morning, I looked up the information, to my added DELIGHT. Although this is not new information, it was new to me and rather amazing, making all the sense in the world.
