Light and Dark
with a light in the attic
and no one amidst
my body froze and my soul was soon adrift
as I exited my exterior being
id never found myself this way
I now saw those dwelling in the attic
distant lovers of times far gone
meant to be but taken before their time
they told me the grizzly story
of blood, desire, and hatred
with no difference but the color of skin
and now that their gone they seem no different
but I then returned to my body now in the present
and no recollection of any kind
I lost all thoughts and all drive
I fought now for equality only for nothing to change
no one is different
less violence
but even more ignorance
