Lifting Flutters
So stunned in this intrusive bird
who nibbles secrets in my ear
of pastures far beyond my view
to greener days, another year
I flutter to absorb it's wings
while it to squawk picks up it's beak
and sits my shoulder weighted down
attention draws itself to peak
Perorally of humor wraps
my mind around tomorrow's breath
and tickles me in nerves to glow
alarmingly in countenance
The leather strap upon it's foot
as it tells on of brighter skies
is branded "HOPE" in letters bold-
I loose the strap and up it flies.
