Let Red Riding Hood bloody-hack the wolf to death… Let the sleeping beauty jam an apple down the witch’s throat… Let Hansel and Gretal pull out all the witch’s teeth without putting her to sleep… Let Cinderella make her stepmother step in shards of glass while she whistles and laughs…

I totally get. But, goodness against darkness makes a fairy tale. Goodness doesn't go for the jugular. I understand your rage, but I don't think Snow White would harm anyone at any age. It's good to let it out, though. Bravo.

This is perfectly amazing, this needs to be sent to Readers Digest or something, somewhere! I love it! Yikes, the stepmother walking through shards of glass that made me Grimace. You did this so well, and it is another fave! I can't wait to share this poem with my grown daughters we change fairy tales to kinder tales (as well as nursery rhymes, those can be a bit horrifying "...and down will come cradle baby and all? NO!) Those fairy tales were grim indeed, makes you wonder! Great job Kim :)

I would sing that lullaby to the kids and end with “right in my arms” …Thank you so much, BJ!

Love this Kim. The play on the Grimm brothers and their fairy tales with todays violent world is excellent.

I love it, love it, love it, agree, agree, agree, oh the delivery, the delivery, the delivery - what a package you gave to me. So, to be clear, NOT for contest? I, too, don't much wanna visit the cruel and/or comeuppance part of fairytales, but do LOVE 2 sometimes-ingredients: bird's ironing, squirrels folding and other domestics done by creatures while all sing and being kissed by the Prince ... Unique take on the contest, Kim. Your images remind me of things like in the book that I think was called Twisted Fairy Tales
