Life's Raindrop

Just imagine...
Ambling mazily
Through an uncharted no man's land
Wrecked by the most wicked of drought
A screaming agony of thirst has befallen you
Your spirit is steadily draining out of you
Every ounce of your sweat, your life
Oozing profusely out of your pores
A slow, cruel death is sure to come to you
An oasis is nowhere in sight, then a raindrop
As if like magic, drips between your eyes
And trickles down your nose, then your upper lip...
You taste it with your curled tongue
You sigh with relief, you dance with joy
Thinking a cloudburst would follow
You tilt your head up, close your eyes
And stick out tongue, waiting...and waiting...
To satiate your intense thirst, at last
And then nothing? No rain.
Isn't that a pity?
