ALL THE WORLD'S A STAGE, AND ALL THE MEN AND WOMEN MERELY PLAYERS;... AND SO HE PLAYS HIS PART... LAST SCENE OF ALL,
THAT ENDS THIS STRANGE EVENTFUL HISTORY...
WILLIAM SHAKESPEARE: 'AS YOU LIKE IT.'
I learned to face life without the concept of fear, unlike many others
weighed down in chaotic cynisism and pessimistic notions of doom.
I refused to allow anything to take firm hold of me with its druthers
or stifle me with trivialities, coloring my world in shades of gloom.
I thought of life as a stage, where I portrayed characters in productions,
donned costumes in myriads of bright kaleidoscope patterned fabrics
but I'd never been handed a written script or given acting instructions.
I portrayed a troubled teen, then played the part of a nurse in geriatrics.
There have been moments when I smiled as a comedian who's masked
and for a while my world was filled with hysteria to the point of laughter,
but when sadness touched me, it left a hollow chasm. That's when I asked
God to get me through the Apocalypse that changed the world thereafter.
It was all just a dress rehearsal in a world that had spiraled out of control.
The theatrical stage replaced with scenery, created without human flaws.
And the cacophony of voices I heard were those raised to praise and extol
God's restoration of Paradise, worthy of perpetual encores and applause.
