Life Is Fragile As Is Poetry

By J. E. Tate Life is fragile, handle with prayer; Fill your poems with fine fanfare. No need for abject apology, When armed with humble kneeology. The mouth tastes food as ears test words,¹ Bad verse written is for the birds. Keep lines fresh and somewhat terse; Readers will yearn for your solid verse. Avoid displaying tempestuous strife, While packing lines full of facets of life. Saturate poems with worthwhile stuff, They’ll never say, that’s enough. Poetic streams run to the sea,² Never overflowing their destiny. ¹Job 34:3 ²Ecclesiastes 1:7

Wise words indeed James:-) Your line 'saturate poems with worthwhile stuff' made me smile as I write lots of poem about poop and farting and I also see so much twaddle that no one but the poet understands but hey there is a place for us all in the soup bowl:-) hugs jan xx
