Life In the Slow Lane

Life in the Slow Lane By Elton Camp If you live past sixty, things slow down So that it takes a lot longer to get around And another thing that you will find, too In turning out work fast, you are through Instead of speeding when you drive You will slow down just to stay alive Working in the yard no longer is play Just trimming the roses can take all day Off your tongue, words don’t glibly slide That you’ve forgotten names, must hide But the thing that’s speeded up is that Cake is quicker to make your belly fat

Each one of your couplets unfortunately conveys the plain truth. They are all written well with appropriate rhyming. Good job Elton.
