Life Goes On
Life goes on from day to day.
Some rise, some fall,
But many pray.
To God or something more sinister.
Some for death,
And some for a cure.
Life goes on from day to day.
Some live, some die,
But many decay.
From lying in an empty pit,
They fade away,
Bit by bit.
Life goes on from day to day.
Some come, some leave,
But many lay.
In hospital beds,
With no hope for a cure.
We spend time with them now.
But life goes on, and we mourn when they’re dead.
