Life: a Poet's Journey
He's like a cowboy on his horse.
He trailed through plain and bumpy course,
but when it comes to poetry,
he was to reckon as a force.
He painted life in past and present.
He made it gross and made it decent,
but as a poet braving time,
his works were simply magnificent.
His life of salt and pastry
was reflected in his poetry
like a window to the past;
a taste of life's reality.
