“Liber Novus” Life is read it bleeds continually we simply need to stop and breathe forgive ourselves for tripping over misspent thought too caught up and enraptured in the chapters we imagine we always dream best beginnings and tidy arduous ends unicorns in black matter Life is real hell it reels us in we are what passes through, processed light steaming we enter in screaming a new mission older memories forgotten needles in haystacks sifting for what we lost long ago in the fields of each other it is hiding recalcitrant we are forever seeking for something golden for what is missing needle point we stitch our stories into the fabric of us time – we think it’s slim it never ends we read the signs from other's stories they turn our pages, looking for something they are missing validation of existence they read us in the watchers count good deeds and sins the light laughs in the dark there are wars coming and going never meant for winning losing is the lesson love erupts at some point for the forgiving what remains the remnant a softer kernel of belief beggars in what truly writes our stories edits our looming unfinished mysterious chapters are answers truly found in sacred verse poetry becomes for some a new religion all manner of hymns walking stories that are larger than oceans across watery pages whales tales swallowing tears in time pilot fish listening in each of us enters through the strange place crying novices we break in cracking the door like bungling burglars on our unearthly missions the pages turn in us all a new story is always born red door like a book opens and closes Liber Novus life screams rapturous or not portal wombs waiting rooms and exit strategies all too soon Liber novus closes us out lets us in ... again (LadyLabyrinth / 2022) “Gimme Shelter”, The Rolling Stones https://youtu.be/RbmS3tQJ7Os “Paint it Black”, The Rolling Stones https://youtu.be/O4irXQhgMqg “The voyage began at age 11. There are people with correct answers...but by far, not all the answers. Of course, you may think them incorrect. That's fine -- the answers of others may not be wrong, but more not seeing and understanding fully our own questions.

I don't know what goes on with my 'brain' such as it is lately. It's like someone's turned on a switch and I can't turn the bloody thing off. Every poem is the last poem and another ridiculous thought starts the merry-go-round all over again. My writing will do me in one day. I'll be lying in the death bed asking with my last breaths for the nurse to bring me pen and paper (or ipad)....or I'll sit up mid burn on the flaming longboat across the River Styx and turn around to Charon and say, "Hey mate turn back, I've got another ruddy poem to write", it's too soon yet to meet whoever waits for me in the Fields of Elysium". I think the closer we come to the acceptance of our own 'mortality' the really big questions kick in with an urgency. Atonement...or not. Believe me I hear you brother ... xx

"What the hell was I thinking!?" :) Love it! I can relate. Absolutely! A mystery. With every answer seems to come a new question. Most of us do not remember our past lives...it is a merciful blessing. Thank you, my friend, for the opportunity to speak. I keep trying, even at my age, to make fresh sense of things. Blessings.

some answers are incorrect, others correct. If I had a closed mind, I wouldn't be accepting of most people, nor forgiving. Forgiveness is an interesting and not very easy concept, when you consider its ultimate purpose in the grand scheme of things. How other people think, make their choices in life, is a reflection, somewhere of dark and light within ourselves.

I do not draw my ultimate conclusions from books; as you can see, I seldom quote others -- what was read. I no longer read theories on Truth. If one has to read it, it is not self. Evil people are reincarnated because hopefully they learned something during purification that causes them to try and change. I know, victims of their crimes want Perps to rot in hell for eternity. I understand this. I have felt this way. We are born to change ourselves, as the earth is a chance for redemption.

I learn from books and other people, along with my own experiences. I make my own conclusions independently - let me tell you Monsieur DiMino, sometimes my own conclusions are totally a** up...and later I think, what the hell was I thinking.

Hi Lady; you ask very good questions. They are difficult to answer in a few paragraphs. I have met spiritual people who are well aware of past lives, quite vivid recollections (some would call them insane) (shallow remark in my opinion) -- when evil people depart this world, they are confronted by their evil -- the purification they go through I would wish upon no one. It is their choice not mine. When out of body, in the world of mind, there is no place to run and hide. Time and space are one.

I believe in past lives. I must have led a very gracious and delightful past life and I've been tossed back into this life to experience what I missed out on in the last...lol. Perhaps this whole past life thing, is just a bad joke. Apparently, we have a "choice" what life we'd like to come back to experience. This takes me back to a past comment, some souls must be masochistic.

Adding something to your comment to Anaya, some folks reincarnate, simply because we are part of a greater soul (oneness) -- at some point we realize that no one reaches an ultimate paradise, probably a never-ending trek, before anyone else. They come back, despite the challenges, to serve (for no other reason). Anyway, my take on the subject, for the little it may be worth.

We are in a loop. Circuits that fuel something larger. My thoughts, of course. With regards to "no one reaches an ultimate paradise", you may be correct, but no one has the answers - at all. Only the experiences.

Artist and philosopher I think you fit both bills. Love your thinking process, your lucid ability to reason and express. A pleasure to read. For me, It is not a question so much, as to one's personal perception of right and wrong (that can be too subjective), but of honesty, which exposes truth. When honest, truth is not far from any individual nor group. You are bravely truthful...and wise! Thank you for being here.

Don't get me started on the theories of truth. There are often said to be five main 'theories of truth': correspondence, coherence, pragmatic, redundancy, semantic theories, all rather intriguing and time consuming to delve into....and down the rabbit hole we go...

With regard to your thought, "It is not a question so much, as to one's personal perception of right and wrong that can be too subjective), but of honesty, which exposes the truth. I was listening to a Howard Stern podcast (from years ago, 1997), where an anonymous caller (male) phoned in to elaborately and quite honestly in normal tone share and breakdown the serial murders of women (murders that the caller had committed from age 16yrs onwards). You could say the caller, seemed to be sharing his truth, the police regarded the caller's truth as honesty, as the caller delivered information no one else would know and FBI were sent to Stern's radio station to retrieve audio and any other evidence. Back to reincarnation...if reincarnation exists, why are serial killers and say for eg, such heinous villains as paedophiles, regenerated? Crime on podcast unresolved. Storybook Slayer. I am like most people, I have questions and I deal with them and the unknown through the process of my individual thinking and sometimes I convert all manner of emotions and thoughts into a creative outlet. I am like most people. No different. We all process this life and our experiences and our questions, the best way we can. Thanks for the lovely compliment though Jo, which is motivational and positive. Truth is just as important as Love.

Your thought processes are far too complex and encompassing to fit them all into a single comment -- so I will simply say, I thought the entire work excellent writing. For myself, I always found Jung far more interesting than, let's say, Freud. I think Christianity needs to revisit the subjects of reincarnation and karma, to bring needed clarity to the bible which deals entirely with, love, pain and suffering for purification of self and species. I agree, knowing suffering does not make seeing it or reading about it any less tragic – I knew a mortician who worked for the state, who had to down a bottle of scotch when he did children, especially those that were victims of brutal crimes. I agree, the Russian soldiers are foul savages – those that are not, should defect. Blessings my friend. A Fav from this appreciative poet. Blessings!

Thank you for that thoughtful remonstrance Senor DiMino, as always very much taken in and appreciated. I am more Jung than Freud (who was more 'clinical'), but sometimes I think I totally get Schopenhauer. The artist’s philosopher. This makes sense to me that some of the most persecuted and / or most suffering individuals in this life turn to art and immerse themselves in culture and music to numb the pain, or to accelerate and heighten the experience of life...as a reflection, as a means to record legacy, as a way to survive the pain.

Beautiful things are produced, like poetry (dark and light) … and even through the dark, beauty through silent perception made subtle or loud, is shared, some will understand and other’s won’t....and some will walk away with a deeper understanding that assists them through, whatever they are going through. Others will just shake their heads and wade into the shallows and converse about the joys one can find hiding under rocks or clinging to the undersides of a bridge. People may joke about poets and poetry, but it is such a strong force to be acknowledged and reckoned with for those individuals striving to make sense of it all, through their own experiences. The written word is a key to a portal of other dimensions and shared or voyeuristic understanding.

To convert a life into art, music, poetry, the written word, architecture, philosophy, there is for some, a vast enlightenment and strength on offer to be captured, if one has the sensitivity and insight to convert it all into a fire that lifts ashes into the air, higher than the lows and death of self experienced through wrong turns, tragedy, demise. I am finding the philosophers more compelling than religion at present. But I do agree on your thoughts/comments around religion / reincarnation. I think such a thing does exist reincarnation, lessons, karma – but the answer will not be fully given until we cross over, again. Sometimes we have to walk away for a little while to process life, where we are at and the written word. For some of us we have to return, because it is part of our inherent and inherited condition, perhaps even part of our contract.

Dear Anaya, you do make a valid point. However, I will give you this, I do not have sympathy for the devil, at all, especially those who embrace that particular entity to such an extent they find themselves incarcerated twice for connection with heinous crimes, nor do I hold their enablers in high regard. In context to the Russian soldiers and the rape of children, and in this particular case I note here, of the 15yr old daughter raped in front of her dying mother (the Russians, all the while filming it), I wish the soldiers a speedy trip to a worse Hell in which they find themselves living on this Earth. Reverting back to my 2nd sentence, in this paragraph (not in life) - like Depp, the type of criminal I refer to, are immensely charming and talented actors, who manage to camouflage their crimes to win the academy award at bluffing innocence to a world otherwise unaware of their background or history -

but it is in my consideration, the 'enablers' who are vastly superior insidious criminals as well, who manage to sweep the crime and history of the criminal, all under the carpet and spritz the tainted air with their faux concern and eau de cologne, to claim titles that do not and never should have been awarded to them at all. Enablers are usually very close to their criminal. I try to understand why some individuals spiral to such an extent, and I understand the sociological and anthropological reasons, especially when it relates to family history, but I draw the line and close doors when it comes to children being emotionally, physically or sexually abused. Should anyone find value in the crumbs through any poems on this site, mine or others, then something worthwhile and of important meaning, has been fed for deeper thought.

Children are easily groomed and manipulated when they are children, eventually, they become adults and understand what is right and what is wrong and where true home is...and that is found in their soul and with the aid of their soul - if they are not utterly destroyed through the manipulation and abuse delivered by adult/s and relate outside of the victimisation, to themselves as survivors - they will make it home (even if 'home' is only within themselves).

Even souls have their rules, they may not see it as masochism, it may even be more extreme! A Stones song by a different band...another good one is Sympathy for the devil" I've been reading, a special note that "Leaving crumbs for my daughter" Can't stop thinking about that, perhaps I will do the same for my daughter, I hope she can recognize, me. For I know your crumbs so well. Confusion may be a factor and I would never forgive myself~I think this is what I meant to say.

All sorts of wars. Children shouldn't, but they inevitably get caught up in the middle of the sh*t show (for some it happens from the word 'go'). From birth we are thrown into it all, but if there is truth that we are given a choice to reincarnate back into this life/ this world/dimension, our 'souls' must be real masochists. I revisited a few of the poems I wrote around time of Russian invasion of Ukraine, specifically the poem "15 and 16", I wrote after reading about how Russian soldiers raped a 15year old girl in front of her dying mother who had been shot and left to bleed to death...hence the Rolling Stones song Gimme Shelter. I've been reading Jung's Red Door, bordering on another type of biblical. I don't know how the writing all brings this together, if it does or not. Lately, every write is the last write (rite) ... Nothingness seems like a peaceful place to be.
