~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Summertime spills her blessings over the night,
Whispers of crickets, playing a symphony,
Melancholic and breathless, like the promises
Faded beneath the soft lilac sunset,
Stirring moments, memories, blessings, pure
Intimate faces, blowing in the winds of yesterday,
Erasing the stark colors of a flaming dance,
Hope abounds in the endless summer, darkness
Overbearing like the splendid in an afternoon,
When silence flees the ghostly tunes of those gentle songs,
Birds risking the shadows as they compose a melody…
Let’s sing along…
Summertime dreams in sighs, softly playing on the winds,
Where worn hearts reach into themselves for a second chance,
Inviting the dwindling islands of grief to a still, soothing,
Broken arrows of gloom deafening the trees with a graceful knowing,
Where the leaves bend and dance, strewn wildly, happenstance,
Her mystery blurred by the edges of an embrace,
Balanced by compassion and kindness, mercy and peace,
Promises made around a fire of tenderness, before you and I left,
The only remaining moments trembling with tones of wisdom,
Enchanting reasons for the fires – passions so wild,
Blazing, burning, sparking a rightness in our spirits, a feeling,
Violent as the easy joy that penetrates our wishes.
Let’s sing along…
Summertime flickers and sighs, tired and tattered,
Frayed by yesterday’s regrets, unraveling as we expect,
Tired pieces of hope remain, desperate to see the wonders,
Alive like the morning’s reflections, art in the heavens,
Pouring out the blessings, shedding the darkness,
As the heaviest dew dries, leaving only the imagination to invite,
Tones of whimsical, playful tears, capricious, erratic
Let’s sing A L O N G ….
As the stars glistening in the dusk, dropping laughter over the trees,
Random urges of recklessness, stirring up the joy, the serenity
Soothing away yesterday with the mellow wings,
Like an angel sees, the feelings flow and grow,
Colors of faith, blushing glorious promises,
Remembering that truth abides, despite the night,
Scorning the darkness as it floods the moments,
Moonlight singing through the shadows,
Remembering…
Let’s sing…
It was you and me, always two who believe –
In the love that agrees, we have everything we need,
Everything we will ever need…
Let the night breath and let the morning see,
Forever is more than a dream, forever – can be seen!
We’ll sing, overjoyed to be – simply you and me!
