Let's Get Back To Being Human Again

If I could change the world,
Is it possible to start with myself?

If I could change the world,
A question, in solitude must I reflect upon.
Mine, Yours, His/Hers then it’s Ours, Yours,Theirs…
Which word/s would I like to retain?
Mine and Ours, I would choose, because I feel all
Is mine and I form part of the vast Ours…

If I could change the world, at least in prayer, I would ask:
Who am I God? Human being I call myself but
Primitive animal I look like with an agenda for sure
With my animalistic power to reign on the jungle.

If I could change the world, I’ll ponder upon the
Imagination unchallenged, that have made Gods;
My God, Your God, Our God, Their God and so many
Gods which has remained to me, the stupid, in emblems
And symbols, nothing but to hang around the neck,
Display on the roof and immerse the web with!
Looted have been even the colours of the rainbow
Like a piece of nature’s womb torn to prove a point.

If I could change the world, question I would, those in power,
Who gave you so much right?
The path to reach yonder YOU chose, by any way and means,
Alas, you forgot the harm you caused the Earth in the process.
So, why blame others, get it for yourself!

If I could change the world, I would tell myself,
What may be started tomorrow can start today and now!
I have to rise above to change my mind set and
reeducate myself to be again human being.

So, help me make it happen- taking a pledge to
Stay in my limits for the respect of myself and others!

Thanks for going through it Andrea and for your valuable comment. The theme invites to write so much ,:) I had to cut down the poem several times to respect the limit allowed. :) Sunita
